How does China control its population through the Social Credit System?

 Investopedia defines Credit Ratings, an estimate of the level of risk involved in lending money to a business or other entity, including national and state governments and government agencies. China has applied  Social Credit system with advanced AI surveillance systems to improve governance, reduce crime, deviance and control its huge population. Thus, this system has steadily covered more regions of China and has strengthened the grip of Communist Party. The formal “Social Credit system” of China was announced in 2014, it maintains the records of individuals, government institutions and business to evaluate their trustworthiness and establish an effective deterrence effect against them.

Low score on the Social Credit System means lower access to social services of the state such as, health, education, water, electricity, transportation,etc. Critics of this system have called it a new form of “Orwellian system” , “Sinister Social credit system” and a system of “Total control” that violates fundamental human rights and gives extreme controlling power to the Communist Party of China.
